STRONGSVILLE, Ohio -- The Strongsville City Schools Board of Education will ask voters in November to renew a five-year, 5.9-mill property tax that was first passed in May 2019. The tax, which helps pay for day-to-day operating expenses, was accompanied by $1.1 million in across-the-board budget cuts five years ago. If the levy hadn't passed then, the district would have made even deeper spending cuts. District Treasurer George Anagnostou told the board April 27 that the current levy will continue to generate revenue through the end of 2024.
